For me, it
was brinks vs adt, well, no reflection on ALL of ADT's practices but,
in 1992 I signed on the dotted line for a SafewatchPlus hardwired alarm
system.
I was TOLD by the saleslady that, "after three years I could opt-out of monitoring fees and continue keeping the alarm for a in house alrm." Well, after three years i did just that. I was hounded by ADT that wasn't the policy and either continue making monitoring services or, they will come out and remove the system. The saleslady was long gone from ADT by that time. After writing several letters and a few complaints with the Better Business Bureau they gave up and wrote it off.
I hope everyone reads the entire contract and does not take the sales persons word for it. That's my horror story.
