Review For: ADT Security Services (Con't)
This ADT customer review has been submitted anonymously by a present or former ADT burglar alarms client. Please note that ADT uses a sub-dealer program, which usually means that a local company will install and service your alarm, and ADT will monitor it. So a review listed here may not be for or against corporate ADT, but a completely independent local dealer. If you submit a review, please indicate whether the review is regarding ADT corporate, or the local company who installed your system.
NOTE: If you are submitting an ADT alarm review, please specify the local company that installed it, if applicable.

All of these "horror" stories could have been avoided by doing one of three different things:
1) Sales, Service, and Install will all tell you to test your system regularily. This means calling into 1-800-ADT-ASAP once a month and telling them you want to test your system, they will walk you through the process. Doing so ensures that your system is working properly, which ensures a response.
2) READ THE CONTRACT. I have never signed anything in my life without reading it first. It states at the bottom of the contract that you have up to 3 business days to cancel the contract without enalty. Use those 3 days to understand what you are signing.
3) Buy from corporate. It is far easier for ADT to hold it's employees responsible when you purchase from their actual employees.
Those suggestions are made in the order of importance to you.
